Earnings Coming This Week: Tesla, Bank of America, AT&T, Netflix, American Airlines and More
Earnings season begins this week, with reports from some of the world's best-known companies, including Elon Musk's electric car giant Tesla (TSLA). The line-up also includes major banks, pharmaceutical companies, prominent airlines and technology and telecommunications giants.
In terms of specific names, this week will traditionally feature financials from Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), Bank of America (BAC), Morgan Stanley (MS), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Abbott Laboratories (ABT) and Bank of America Data seen at Airline (AAL), United Airlines (UAL), AT&T (T) and Netflix (NFLX).
The report list now also includes Kinder Morgan (KMI), Blackstone (BX), American Express (AXP), Bank of New York Mellon (BK), Philip Morris (PM), Lockheed Martin (LMT), Ericsson (ERIC) and Alcoa (AA).
Most interestingly, Bank of America (BAC) will report Q3 results on Tuesday, October 17, before the market opens. The report comes days after JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Citigroup (C) and Wells Fargo (WFC) guided shareholders about its better-than-expected Q3 results — apparently triggered by a booming bond market. BAC’s pre-reporting summary looks like this: Consensus EPS Estimates: $0.82; Consensus Revenue Estimates: $25.07 billion; Earnings Insight: The bank has exceeded EPS expectations in 7 of the past 8 quarters and revenue estimates in 6 of the issued corresponding reports.
