Argentina and El Salvador Will Develop Bitcoin as Legal Tender Jointly
A diplomatic delegation from El Salvador will soon visit Argentina on issues related to Bitcoin adoption. There is a possibility that Argentina will accept or facilitate Bitcoin transactions on a nationwide level, given that the incumbent president Javier Milei is known as a crypto enthusiast and has repeatedly made statements in favor of the cryptocurrency market.
Also, among Javier Milei's proposals to eliminate hyperinflation in Argentina is to “get rid of” the country's central bank and promote the dollarization of the economy, as well as the creation of a free currency market. This Milei’s proposal might sound controversial, but he personally outlined that it is in line with the overall principles of the cryptocurrency market. If Milei follows Nayib Bukele's plans, it is possible that Argentina will start accumulating Bitcoin as a national reserve fund, the way the government of El Salvador has been doing for several years, which has accumulated more than 2,000 Bitcoins in its state treasury to date.
He previously said that next year, several more countries will recognize Bitcoin as legal tender in their financial systems.
